Joe Musgrove

Born in El Cajon, California in 1992, Joe Musgrove began participating in baseball tournaments at the age of seven and broke out as a star pitcher  and batter during his junior year playing baseball at Grossmont High school. During his time at Grossmont high school Joe helped lead the team to two state championship appearances.

After being selected by the Blue Jays in the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft, Joe chose to sign with the team instead of playing college baseball for San Diego State. Partway through the 2012 season, Musgrove was traded to the Astros as part of a large ten-player trade. He began to rise through the Astros' minor leagues in 2015, and made his major league debut in 2016.

In 2017, Musgrove was part of the World Series-winning Astros team. That offseason, Musgrove was part of another large trade between the Astros and the Pirates. He spent two years with the Pirates before being traded to his hometown team, the Padres. On April 9, 2021, Musgrove pitched the first no-hitter in the Padres' 52-year franchise history.
